Over the weekend there were riots between two African migrant groups in the Netherlands, during which police cars were set on fire.
The Associated Press reported that a group of Eritreans opposed to the African country's government attacked a venue where a group loyal to Eritrea's government was holding a meeting.
Robin Middel, spokesman for the Hague municipality, said: “It has gotten completely out of control.”
Video of the attack showed dozens of military-age men rioting, breaking windows and vandalizing vehicles as police arrived on the scene.
Stones were later thrown at police officers and about a dozen police officers and firefighters reportedly sustained injuries.
Police had to use tear gas to disperse the migrants and quell the violence.
“Rioters break into an entrance to the opera,” a local reporter posted on X. “Windows are broken and people are trying to break in. The fire department also left and cannot put out the fire.”

The Associated Press highlighted numerous examples of widespread violence caused by Eritrea's African migrants, including the injury of dozens of police officers at a cultural event in Germany last September; violent riots in Israel last September and 22 German police officers injured in separate attacks at a festival in early 2023.
