“Hot temperatures” await Quebecers –

The mercury temperature in southern Quebec is expected to exceed 30 degrees three times during the first week of September, while the province experienced no heat waves in June, July and August.

Humidity was 35°C in Montreal on Sunday afternoon and was expected to be between 35 and 40°C between Monday and Wednesday.

“These hot temperatures could continue Thursday and Friday in the southernmost sectors of Quebec,” Environment and Climate Change Canada said in a special multi-region weather bulletin.

Is it unusual to experience a heatwave in September? According to one meteorologist, not necessarily.

“This is not so rare, we are still in the first week of September with temperatures above 30 degrees, but only in the south of the province,” says Jean-Charles Beaubois, president of Global Weather.
