On the night of Monday (4), a house in the US state of Virginia exploded when police tried to execute a search warrant. Some security officers sustained injuries, but none serious.

The case occurred in Arlington County, which is near Washington. Police reported receiving a report of shots fired in the area late in the afternoon.

Investigators received permission to search a suspect’s home. In the early evening, when the police were already standing in front of the house, shots were heard again.

At around 8:30 p.m. local time (10:30 p.m. in Brasília), the twostory apartment building exploded and caused a fire. Debris from the house was also thrown onto police and neighboring properties.

As of the publication of this report, police had not reported what happened to the suspect who was inside the home. There is also no information about the presence of other people inside the property.

The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
