‘How I Met Your Father’ CANCELED: Sitcom spin-off starring Hilary Duff only ran for two seasons on Hulu
“How I Met Your Father,” the Hulu spin-off of the popular sitcom “How I Met Your Mother,” has been canceled after just two seasons.
The new series starred Hilary Duff, 35, and a cast that included Chris Lowell and Suraj Sharma, as well as Selena Gomez’s kidney donor Francia Raisa.
The second season ended in July without revealing the secret of how the main character actually met the father of her children.
How I Met Your Mother had a long and successful run on CBS from 2005 to 2014, airing a total of nine seasons.
Now, a report from TV Line has confirmed that the spin-off series, which first aired on Hulu last January, has been canceled less than a third of the way through its run.

The original series was narrated by the late Bob Saget, who told his children the story of how his younger self, played by Josh Radnor, fell in love with their mother.
How I Met Your Father followed a similar pattern, with Kim Cattrall providing the narration as an older version of Hilary’s character.
Cobie Smulders and Neil Patrick Harris, both fan favorites from the original series, made guest appearances in the new series as their old characters.
Neil played dashing Lothario Barney, while Cobie played Robin, caught in a love triangle between Barney and Josh Radnor’s character Ted.
Meanwhile, How I Met Your Father had a cast that included names like Versailles heartthrob Tom Ainsley and Candyman actress Tien Tran.
