Confucius said that a lifetime’s reputation can be destroyed by one second’s action; That’s true of a lot of entertainment figures, but lately it’s probably who’s “the most hated woman” (even more so than Irina Baeva with the whole Gabriel Geraldine thing or Marjorie de Sousa for her bitter fight with Julián Gil ) is Monterrey native Karla Panini who was part of the comedy duo Las lavanderas with the late Karla Luna who was not only her partner but also her best friend and died of cancer in 2018.
“Cusca”, “Rompehogares”, “Buscona”, “Traidora”, “Malamujer” – these are some of the releaseable things that have been raining down on her since she secretly began an affair with Américo Garza, Luna’s husband and father of her daughters, in 2012. She wasn’t single either, she was in a relationship with comedian Óscar Burgos, although they broke up when overwhelming and public evidence surfaced in the media that she was unfaithful to Américo, and not only that, but that she was she had incited lovers to mistreat Luna.
The bombshell literally went off during the duo’s final TV show when Panini metaphorically told him (in character) that she was the mancornadora dating her husband. The chaos that ensued (you can see the video on YouTube) was an international scandal, and it got worse as Luna and Garza began to process a difficult divorce and she began her cancer treatment, which she eventually beat.
The social networks accumulated hatred against the “Lavandera Güera” and her reaction was with a unique freshness that openly bordered on the cynical, saying that Karla Luna was not a saint and that she and Américo loved each other and that the world hated her her well, no way what to do. It got worse when Karla Luna died after long ordeals that she also experienced practically in public and her youngest daughters were demanded by their father Américo to take them to Panini, with whom they had already made their relationship official (with the blessing of Burgos).

But there is no evil that does not come to good. It recently emerged that Panini decided to use all the insults she had received for years to gain financial advantage (no one could blame her: Panini was a mediocre comedian and lacked the slightest grace, but she is a brilliant business woman) and he announced that he plans to launch a t-shirt line with the phrase “We hate you, Panini,” an epithet that has been a trending hashtag on more than one occasion. Honestly, the idea of commercializing disgrace is absurd, but for someone who has built his fame precisely on absurdity, it’s a very logical idea.)
But this isn’t about whether or not you launch a clothing line and whether there are people who are curious to buy it. It is that even though they have made a circus out of their relationship and what happened to their “comadre”, acknowledging this lady’s ability to take advantage of free publicity and now even money, which for many others it would be a shame that his reputation has been shattered. To her, it’s remarkable when there’s no bad publicity, let alone a bad reputation, at least when she plans to keep talking about her, as she has shown, even at the expense of her dead colleague (and rival).
