The 54-year-old suffered cardiac arrest at her home in Calabasas on Thursday morning and was revived by paramedics.

She spoke openly about her addiction to painkillers and opioids for the first time while writing the foreword to Harry Nelson’s book, The United States of Opioides: A Prescription for Liberating a Nation in Pain.
Presley said in the book, written in 2019, that she was “grateful to be alive today,” before explaining that she first started taking opioids after the birth of her twins, Vivienne and Finley, in 2008.
She said: “You may be reading this and wondering how, after losing people close to me, I also fell victim to opioids.
“It only took a short-term hospital prescription of opioids for me to feel the need to continue taking them.”
Addiction has been a part of the star’s life since childhood, when her father and ex-husband Michael Jackson both died of complications from drug use.

His body was not removed from the property after his death in August 1977, which Lisa previously said it “didn’t seem real” to her – adding it was “oddly reassuring”.

She has struggled to keep her addiction private, but details of her struggle with sobriety emerged while she was filing paperwork for a divorce from her fourth husband – musician Michael Lockwood.
Lisa married Danny Keough in 1988 and stayed with him for six years, with the couple sharing daughter Riley and son Benjamin before marrying Jackson in 1994 and divorcing him just two years later.
She then enjoyed a whirlwind marriage of just 107 days to Nicolas Cage from 2002 to 2004 before marrying Lockwood for ten years between 2006 and 2016 — and giving birth to twins Finley and Harper.
The bombshell admitted her troubles with sobriety began in 2003 after years of witnessing her struggle.
Her substance abuse problems began as a teenager before she was taken to The Castle – a Scientology center in Hollywood – to be cured of drugs.
She admits she saw her father take “handfuls of pills” and recalls his “erratic behavior” towards the end of his life”.
Her foreword continued, “It’s a difficult journey to break through this addiction and get my life back on track.
“Even in the past few years, I’ve seen too many people I loved struggling with addiction tragically dying from this epidemic.

“It’s time we said goodbye to the shame of addiction. We must stop blaming and judging ourselves and those around us. It starts with us sharing our stories.”
With four failed marriages under her belt, Lisa’s troubles began after she found her father dead in the toilet after suffering a heart attack — with his then-girlfriend screaming into the phone.

Lisa told Rolling Stone in 2003 that she was obsessed with “saving” the star and thought that together they could “save the world.”
Reflecting on the impact marriage has had on her life and reputation, she said, “All I took out of it was a storm. And I got out of there.’
She said she became aware of his drug addiction in 1995 — just a year after they tied the knot — after he collapsed onstage while rehearsing for an HBO special.
Lisa gave the superstar an ultimatum – choose the drugs or her – with him choosing his then-wife’s drugs over them.
The star said she regularly saw her second husband come back from his dermatologist’s office “completely beside himself”.
