The end of the championship is approaching. After 14 days of play, the final tournament is coming to an end. Teams and fans alike are five dates away from meeting the champion of the second competition of the year the team that will compete with Melgar for the national title.
Sporting Crystal, Sporting degree, sports school, Alliance of Lima and even the same Melgar They have chances to enter the battle for the Clausura, although they have to survive several matches that could be considered “finals” at this point. Sporting Cristal – 31 points
The Rimense team is the current leader of the tournament. After beating Ayacucho FC 1-0, Roberto Mosquera’s side have 31 points, three points ahead of Atlético Grau, who are second.
Likewise, the Celestials take four points from ‘U’ and Alianza and five from Melgar, which is why they’re confident of taking over the competition. They could lose at most one game and stay ahead, although losing in more than one game would force them to rely on other outcomes.

Atletico class – 28 points
Piura’s team is the pleasant revelation of this second part of the championship. With eight games won and just two losses, Gustavo Álvarez’ squad has 28 units and is looking forward to making history.
Although only three points behind the lead, the big disadvantage of the Albos is that they have to rest on the last day, so they have to win all games and Cristal loses in two games and Alianza and Melgar fall in one.

The team of Carlo Compagnucci moved up to third place after beating Mannucci 3-0. With 27 points, the cream team still has a chance, but they are in a difficult situation, not only because they are four points behind Cristal, but also because they have a rest date.
Unlike his comrades and Domino who are fighting for 15 points, the ‘U’ is only played for 12 units, because on Matchday 17 he has to rest. Universitario needs to win all of their games and relies on a series of results.

Lima Alliance – 27 points
After the 3-2 defeat by César Vallejo, Alianza Lima fell within a point of Cristal in the standings. The Intimates sit fourth at 27 units, depending on Mosquera’s squad to become champions.
Those led by Guillermo ‘Chicho’ Salas are committed to win all remaining games and hope the sky-blue squad lose at least two of the five remaining games, only then can they crown themselves in the second tournament of the year.

The Domino team missed a great opportunity to climb into the top 3 of the table with a 1-1 draw against ADT de Tarma. Although he still has chances to win the national title straight away, the situation is complicated.
The Arequipa team must win all their games and hope that Cristal and Alianza lose at least two of the five remaining. Complicated but not impossible for Lavallén.
