It’s a crazy story coming to us from South Korea: Tottenham’s South Korean striker Son Heung-min has officially turned a year younger!
On Wednesday, Tottenham striker Son Heung-min was revealed to have looked a year younger without having to go through any paperwork. That’s because of a new law that was originally passed in December but only came into effect this week.
So far, the method has been to include gestation in the age calculation. This meant that all babies were considered one year old when they were born. In addition, every individual turned one year older on January 1st, including those born in December.
South Korea is now adopting international age calculation methods. Therefore, babies are considered zero years old at birth and then add one year to their age every year.
As a result, some “lost” a year, including Son Heung-min (1992) and Kim Min-jae (1996), the Napoli defender targeted by Bayern Munich.
