Eduardo Verastegui, the made news for prayer in a live interviewHe’s promoting the film “Sound of Freedom”which is already out in theaters in the United States, and he has no problem saying that for everything behind it, it’s the most important project of his life.
The film is based on a true story and tells the work of Timothy Ballard, a US Department of Homeland Security agent who rescued a group of sexually exploited children in Colombia a few years ago. After that, the man quit his job and founded an NGO to rescue minors from human trafficking.
With his Catholicism at the highest level, Verástegui saw this film as something different in his life, which is why all of his efforts in recent years have been focused on it, to the point that he assumed this film saved his life.

WHY DOES EDUARDO VERÁSTEGUI SAY THAT “SOUND OF FREEDOM” SAVES HER LIFE?
As part of the promotion of the film, the Mexican actor Eduardo Verastegui granted People en Español an exclusive interview in which many aspects affecting them were discussed. During the conversation things like experience and history were mentioned and the artist was encouraged to say that the project saved his life.
“This film saves my life. When you work on projects designed to save lives, those lives save yours… For 20 years, I’ve made that commitment, that promise I made to God and my parents, my life, my talents, everything to use what I am in projects that have the potential to entertain audiences but also to change the lives of others because art has that power,” commented the famous actor.
Likewise, Verástegui stressed that it was the real story in his life as he felt truly inspired but at the same time amazed to learn the truth behind the trafficking of minors around the world.
“I was inspired to meet real heroes, but also shocked when they told me what they did. They travel undercover across different parts of the world, visiting the darkest corners of the planet to rescue kidnapped children for sexual exploitation… The United States is the world’s largest consumer of child sex. They are also the number one consumers of drugs and child pornography, with Mexico being the number one provider due to its proximity. When you find out about these things as a Mexican, you can’t help but notice it,” added Verástegui, who also revealed that he has been working on the film for eight years.

HOW TO WATCH THE SOUND OF FREEDOM MOVIE?
The film, starring Jim Caviezel, the actor who played Jesus in “The Passion of the Christ,” was released in US theaters on July 4 and has enjoyed good box office success. It grossed more than $12 million in its early days alone, surpassing the US brand Indiana Jones tape itself.

What is the Sound of Freedom about?
“Sound of Freedom” is based on that Tim Ballard’s True Life Storya US homeland security officer who risked everything to fight child trafficking.
The official synopsis states: “After rescuing a boy from ruthless traffickers, a federal agent learns that the boy’s sister is still being held captive and decides to embark on a dangerous mission to rescue her.” With time running out, he quits his job and travels deep into the Colombian jungle, risking his life to save her from a fate worse than death. In the film, Tim Ballard (played by Jim Caviezel) is a special agent for the Office of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), part of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service.
