This update brought a number of useful improvements, but you should update your system to iOS 13 before playing with the latest toys. Here’s how to update your iPhone or iPod contacts to iOS 13.
Note: For the first time in Apple’s legacy, the iPad will likely go its own way and no longer be tied to iOS. Like these types of iPads, they didn’t get iOS 13. As an alternative, the iPad now has an operating system known as iPadOS and we have written an independent guide on how to download iPadOS.
Compatible devices
First, make sure your device is compatible with iOS 13. Although Apple is known for supporting more mature devices with new software updates, some older iPhones that qualified for iOS 12 did not acquire iOS 13. The Next iPod Touch and iPhones Guide iOS 13:

Download iOS 14
Apple unveiled the beta version of iOS 14 at its WWDC 2020 in June. It will roll out the new operating system to all eligible Apple iPhone customers in September, as it is now the annual tailored offering. If you become a developer and you have an Apple developer account, you can now get it correctly as described in our guide on how to get iOS 14 beta. However, if you really don’t have an Apple Developer account, all you have to do is wait until September. We’re sorry!
Assuming you upgrade to iOS 14 in September, but then for whatever reason you always want to downgrade back to iOS 13, chances are you won’t be able to. In the past, it was possible to downgrade from iOS 12 to iOS 11, for example. However, Apple introduced an improvement in iOS 13 that intended iPhones could only put in Apple-signed versions of iOS. Even if you find a version of iOS 13 online, it is most likely not signed by Apple. It’s likely that this application will continue for iOS 14, so the moment you jump to iOS 14 there will almost certainly be no going back.
