Women are obsessed with a technique that instantly removes a double chin when posing for photos.
The “meow” will instantly tighten the jawline – and all you have to do is slide your tongue into the roof of your mouth and suck in your throat.
The technique is believed to have been popularized by British father-son orthodontists John and Mike Mew and millions of people have since used it to improve their photographic appearance.
TikTokers and influencers who have just embraced the simple method are spreading it widely, saying it makes their jawline look “ripped off” in seconds.
TikToker Kaci Shiers tried it herself and instantly her “double chin” was gone. Within 24 hours, the video racked up a staggering 10.2 million views, leaving thousands wondering how on earth she managed to do it.
Meow changes the appearance of the jawline by positioning the tongue to touch the roof of the mouth. This method temporarily reduces the appearance of a “double chin”
In the video, Kaci started meowing as if realizing someone was taking a sideways photo of her.
To meow properly, relax your tongue and make sure it’s fully seated against the roof of your mouth. Teeth should be touching and lips should be closed.
The skin under the chin should lift accordingly, but some practice may be needed. The tactic is also unlikely to bring lasting benefit.
There are also rumors of some A-list celebs meowing while taking photos on the red carpet.

According to WebMD, there is “no serious research to suggest meowing can change the shape” of the jaw or help with ongoing health problems.
GesundLine cited a study that “examined the resting positions of the tongue to see if any muscle groups were engaged as a predictor of long-term memory.”
“In this case, the researchers found that the 33 people in the study showed no signs of altered muscle activity,” it said.
While Healthline said the practice is not “inherently dangerous,” more research is needed.
