From the success of the telenovela “Rebelde” (2004) the Mexican band RBD was born, which announced their return to the stage. The success of Televisa, broadcast in Brazil by SBT, earned the group fans across Latin America before a controversial split in 2008.
The group was formed by Dulce María, Christian Chávez, Anahí, Maite Perroni, Christopher von Uckermann and Alfonso Herrera, and a band that accompanied them on tours.
What do musicians officially say? In an interview with the program “En La Luna” published in April 2018 on the YouTube channel hosted by Jesús Guzmán, Alfonso Herrera admits that he was to blame for the end of the group. “I wanted to do other things, like acting. [..] We had an agreement: if one of the musicians decides to leave, the group will disband. Luckily that was respected.”
“Christopher also wanted to do other things. Maite has already done soap operas while we were on tour. Everyone started getting involved in new projects,” he added.
Discussion in Brazil. Although Anahí are good friends, she opened up about a fight with Dulce Maria before a show at Morumbi Stadium in São Paulo. “That was one of the biggest bullshits in the world. We presented different points of view and then we started shouting. We didn’t speak for two days.” For the artist, the situation, exposed on a Mexican television program, was the result of the stress caused by the concert schedule.
Constant fights between Anahí and Alfonso Herrera. While participating in the show “Tudo é Possível” (RecordTV) in 2010, Anahí stated that when they toured together, there were often arguments with her colleague. “It’s normal, like when you fight with your brothers”. In an interview aired on Mexican television, the two already admitted to falling out in Bogotá, Colombia, after Alfonso suggested a rain shower to the group members.
end of the novel. Dulce Maria and Alfonso Herrera were a couple at the time “Rebelde” was recorded. “All the girls wanted to be with them. We went to every country and they got to choose, you know? […] We weren’t together anymore, but obviously it’s very difficult to end a relationship without having room for suffering,” he said in an interview with the program “En compañia de…” that aired in 2015.
Prank of the dead mouse. Anahí and Christopher von Uckermann publicly admitted a relationship in 2007, but the relationship only lasted a year, Mexican magazine Quién reported in 2014. At the time they were dating, Christopher was fighting with the artist after finding a dead mouse in had thrown her direction while conducting an essay for a magazine. “I had to dodge to avoid hitting the face,” Anahí told Televisa.
Another breakup. Maite Perroni also had a relationship with Guido Larris, the bassist of RBD, between 2006 and 2008. According to Mexican magazine Hola! she made the decision to end her engagement to the musician, but never publicly commented on that decision.
