How wild child Alison Mosshart was tamed by Eton-educated widower Damian Lewis – after they got back together 14 months after the death of his wife Helen McCrory

Alison Mosshart and Damian Lewis looked smitten as they snogged in the sea in St Tropez yesterday as the sun shone on them – fans of the Homeland actor will no doubt be delighted to smile again at him after the tragic loss of his wife two years ago see .

Helen McCrory, best known for her roles in the Harry Potter films and BBC series Peaky Blinders, died in April 2021 at the age of 52 after being diagnosed with breast cancer, leaving behind Damian and their two children, Manan and Gulliver.

Shortly after her death, Damian wrote a heartbreaking tribute to Helen in The Times, revealing his late wife wanted him to find love again – and joking that his children had said their mother “wanted that.” Dad has many girlfriends”.

Just over a year after her death, Damian was spotted with Florida-born wild daughter Alison, 44, who has fronted rock band The Kills alongside Jamie Hince since 2001 and also appeared in The Dead Weather with Jack White.

While the couple, who have been together for at least a year, are heaping on the PDA and Alison postings on Instagram about her new love’s “beautiful” music, it seems the father-of-two, who graduated from public school, has the wild child tamed Alison – while she pulled him out of his shell in the midst of his grief.

Speaking to the Independent in 2020, before she started dating Damian, Alison opened up about her wild days with bandmate Jamie, touring the US and performing in pubs before she even owned a cellphone.

She recalled that she and Buckinghamshire-born Hince would take turns driving across the country and get into all sorts of trouble — including being followed by police in a high-speed car chase in Ohio.

She said, “Our hearts are racing.” I filmed our conversation. we talked Then suddenly the smoke and dust cleared behind us and in the rear view mirror I saw the policeman just standing there. “We just screamed.”

After the two were finally arrested by the police, they were taken into custody and had to hand over their money. The couple was so broke they ended up sleeping in their cars.

Although Mosshart is known as a party girl, she denied using drugs and said she always preferred cigarettes, red wine and coffee.

When asked about a 2011 comment from her bandmate Hince about her singing changing during her time in the band, she replied that she had no answer to what he had said, insisting: “No one tell me what to do.”

Since the pair were first pictured together, they’ve been spotted on a number of sweet date nights across the UK and US – and were recently spotted together in New York City, enjoying a few drinks al fresco while Damian curled up with a cigarette relaxed.

In May, Damian posted a sweet selfie on Instagram of herself and Alison, both dressed in Statue of Liberty memorabilia, sulking after visiting the New York City landmark.

He captioned the photo, “I mean what would you do with a day off?”

While on the PDA this week during their beloved holiday in St Tropez, the pair enjoyed some time off following Alison’s promotional tour for the Kills’ new album and a brief hiatus on Damian’s own tour performing songs from his debut album, Mission Creep.

While Alison and Damian continue to perform affectionately, the couple have won the approval of Alison’s 76-year-old mother, Vivian.

She told Web last year: “I don’t know how much criticism I’m going to get for all of this, but of course we’re happy for them.”

They have friends in common. I don’t know exactly how they met, but I’m okay with that. If she’s happy, we’re happy. I haven’t met him yet, but I’d definitely like to meet him.’

Vivian said she’s aware of the actor’s heartbreaking backstory but is less familiar with his starring roles on hit shows like Homeland, Band of Brothers and Billions, in which Lewis played hedge fund titan Bobby Axelrod.

“I think I’ve seen Billions a few times, but we usually just watch movies. “I heard he had a new show coming out, but I haven’t seen it,” she noted.

Of her daughter’s character, she said, “She is not easy to summarize.” She is a complicated, beautiful woman and very intelligent.

“She’s so talented in so many areas that it never ceases to amaze us.” It actually surprises us. We are very proud.’

Although they come from very different backgrounds and Damian was educated at the UK’s most prestigious boarding school, they both share a deep love of music as Damian begins his new career.

And after his album was released in June this year, she posted a sweet tribute to him on Instagram.

Sharing the artwork for his album cover, Alison wrote: “Congratulations to [Damian Lewis] on the release day of his first album on Decca. This record is beautiful inside and out. Happiest discharge day, baby!’
