NHL Five Stars That Disappoint 2022 2023

Huberdeau’s agent is tracking the Flames

Allan Walsh proved once again on Thursday that he had his tongue in his pocket. The agent of several National Hockey League stars, including Jonathan Huberdeau, took aim at the Calgary Flames in a inflammatory tweet.

After Alberta’s 5-2 loss to the Detroit Red Wings ー his fourth in his last five games ー, Walsh once again used his platform to defend a client’s interests.

“The definition of madness [insanity], repeating the same gestures in the hope of a different result, he wrote, identifying the flames in his publication. Also, negativity keeps players from having fun.”

This arrow is probably aimed at head coach Darryl Sutter. Ahead of Friday’s clashes, the Flames clung to the last spot that allowed entry into the playoffs.

“What is said on social media has never affected our dressing room,” Sutter replied simply, according to Sportsnet. When your group is tight-knit, you want it to stay that way.”

Bought dearly in the off-season, Huberdeau hasn’t settled into his new team yet. His 36 points from 52 duels is a huge disappointment for the team that just awarded him an $84 million contract.

The Saint-Jérôme native was still adamant when asked if he had any part in his agent’s decision to publish such a tweet.

“If it were, I wouldn’t be speaking to you right now,” he told reporters. I’m on my way home.”

The Flames host the New York Rangers on Saturday.
