Huge fries get into the Guinness Book

The Guinness Book of World Records was created to catalog all types of records of the world, from the most bizarre to the most unusual. So this boy’s case can go into the book. The child may have found the world’s largest french fries, the record previously measuring 22.3 cm can be beaten by him.

Archie Davies, a 9yearold Welsh man, after accompanying his parents on a trip to a supermarket chain in his country, Asda, picked up a packet of frozen chips for the family to prepare for dinner that night. While preparing the potatoes, the boy noticed that one potato was larger than the others in the pack. After frying them, he fascinatedly showed the food to his parents, who took care to measure his height and saw that it was over 20 cm tall.

Curious if this could be a world record, the boy’s family looked in the “Guinness Book” and saw that the record was exactly 22.3 cm. So they took a tape measure to measure the boy’s potato accurately. And there was the new record for the largest potato. When training, Archie’s potato was 22.86 cm tall. As a result, he decided to name the potato Geoff.

“He was really excited when we found her. We contacted the ‘Guinness Book’ to see if it really could be a world record as we believe the last record was 22.3cm,” said Laura, Archie’s mother.

“Archie loves learning all about world records. He said absolutely nobody was allowed to touch it (on Geoff) and he didn’t know if we’d ever get it done. I think Archie would love to be famous because of that,” she added.
