Actor Hugh Grant (62, “Notting Hill”) laments, in his own words, that people on film sets are not as familiar with one another as they used to be. In the US presenter show Stephen Colbert He revealed, “You used to get drunk at the end of the second week, have dinner, fall in love and all that. And that stopped because of cell phones. Really everybody goes home and looks at Twitter.” This is very sad.
The Briton was convinced there would be more cases if smartphones were banned from the set. As an example, he cited the instruction of the director Quentin Tarantino. This prohibits phones during filming. “And rightfully so. So the people there all slept together – at least that’s what I’m told,” Grant said with a wink.
The Brit recently worked on the fantasy action adventure Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. In it, he can once again be seen as a charming villain – a role “that suits me well”, says the 62-year-old.
