The demonstrators also gathered in front of the US Embassy, a few meters from El Ángel, accusing that country’s government of being complicit in the massacre and of mocking the people by pretending to have pity for the victims, while at the same time increasing its support for Netanyahu’s genocidal government, which was labeled as a murderer.
They also condemned Israel’s strict siege of the Gaza Strip, which has blocked access to supplies such as water, food and fuel and left more than two million Gazans struggling to survive.
The humanitarian catastrophe resulting from Israel’s 16-year illegal blockade of the occupied Gaza Strip will only worsen if the fighting does not stop immediately, speakers with megaphone in hand said.
They called for a ceasefire aimed at ending illegitimate attacks by all sides, halting the rising death toll in Gaza and allowing humanitarian organizations to deliver vital aid, water and medical supplies to the Gaza Strip to address the crisis .
This would also allow hospitals to receive much-needed vital medicines, fuel and equipment and repair damaged wards.
In addition, they said, it would provide opportunities for negotiations on the release of hostages held in Gaza and for independent international investigations into war crimes committed by all sides, with the aim of ending long-standing impunity that continues to give rise to new atrocities.
