Lane Hutson was described by one of his opponents as “the most annoying mosquito”.
The player in question’s comments were reported by Steven Ellis from website DailyFaceoff during a question-and-answer session on the Reddit platform.
“I asked an opponent of Lane Hutson what it was like playing against him. He told me that Hutson was the most annoying mosquito he’d seen in his life,” Ellis said.
The journalist continued to praise the many qualities of the CH hope.
“He’s all over the field and gives you a false sense of security with the way he carries the puck. He looks you straight in the eyes and finally pulls your pants off without giving you the slightest idea what he’s going to do.
The Boston University defenseman had a stellar first season in the American collegiate ranks with 48 points in 39 games.
When asked about Hutson’s blanket, Ellis is full of praise.
“His ceiling is unique. He’s a small defender still trying to adjust to his size. When not playing in the first pair, he will be a great defender in the second pair.
While the defender’s attacking prowess is clear, he still needs to improve some aspects of his game before he can take the plunge.
“He needs to improve his decision making in his zone. “He’s a high-risk, high-reward (‘high risk’, ‘high reward’) player,” concluded Ellis.
