Hydro-Québec is in hot water for various violations of the Environmental Quality Act and is the subject of seven counts of charges.

For example, on December 15, the Crown Corporation received seven complaints of defamation from the Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions.
A total of 14 violations had previously been reported to her.
Hydro-Québec is said to have broken the law seven times in connection with the project of the 120 kV transmission line between the Grand-Brûlé substation in Mont-Tremblant and the commune of Saint-Sauveur, in the Laurentians.
“In connection with these offenses, Hydro-Quebec is subject to a minimum fine of $15,000 per count, as provided for in the EQA,” the press release said.
