Hyundai Sonata
Hyundai Motor Company unveiled the design of the new Sonata with a new emblem for the eighth-generation midsize sedan, heralding its sportiest design ever.
Through more than a simple facelift, the new Hyundai Sonata revolutionizes the image of the old Sonata launched in 2019 and is reborn as a dynamic, progressive new model with low, elegant proportions, more aggressive design and future-oriented technology.
The new Hyundai Sonata presents a fresh interpretation of the four-door coupe that captures the essence of Hyundai Motor’s design philosophy of “Sensuous Sportiness”.
Exterior design embodies “The Sportiness”
Hyundai Sonata accentuates its distinctive image with an N-line-based exterior design that conveys the style of a sports coupe with a long hood, low front end and fastback roofline.
An example of progressive automotive design, the Sonata’s low-slung exterior embodies “The Sportiness” with a horizontal front-end layout that integrates Hyundai’s signature Seamless Horizon lamp, hidden headlights, a wide grille and an air intake for a more dynamic and aggressive appearance. The Seamless Horizon Lamp and the widely spaced hidden headlights create a dramatic lighting effect, emphasizing the vehicle’s wide stance while adding a futuristic touch.
The dynamic design is emphasized by the contrast between sharp, linear elements and clean, smooth surfaces. The black trim along the underside of the body rises towards the rear, giving Hyundai Sonata a strong character.
At the rear, the new H-lights further emphasize Sonata’s high-tech image and wide stance. The curved, spoiler-shaped boot lid and muffler-shaped rear fascia of the standard model reinforce the impression of a high-performance sports sedan, while the addition of a rear spoiler and dual twin-tip mufflers along with exclusive 19-inch wheels on the N Line further reinforces this image.
Interior design implements a future mobility sensibility
The interior of the new Hyundai Sonata features a driver-centric layout that matches its sportier exterior while translating a future mobility sensibility with delicate high-tech touches to support the modern lifestyle.
For the first time in a Hyundai model, Sonata features a curved panoramic display that combines both 12.3-inch driver information clusters and a 12.3-inch AVN infotainment system in a modern and simple dashboard layout that brings the horizontal lines and the extended sense of space. Touch air conditioning mounted on the instrument panel reinforces the high-tech atmosphere.
The interior has been significantly upgraded for an enhanced passenger experience with tasteful interior color combinations to enhance the sense of sportiness and premium character at the same time.
The “floating” theme of the Hyundai Sonata interior creates a futuristic mood. The use of a column-type shift-by-wire control unit behind the steering wheel creates more space in the center console area. The center console is further enhanced by the palm rest, which offers the driver more comfort by lengthening the armrest to rest against the palm. The large drink holder and tray offer additional convenience.
