Tennis player Novak Djokovic is not lacking in self-confidence.

In an interview with UAE media “The National News”, the world number 1 did not hesitate to declare that he is the best.
“When I’m ready, when I’m on the pitch – on every surface and against everyone – I’m better,” the Serb is convinced.
“I don’t think there’s anything arrogant or pretentious about that. I don’t see anything wrong with that,” he added.
Last January, Djokovic won the Australian Open and claimed his 22nd Grand Slam title. He had not been able to compete in this prestigious tournament or the United States Open in 2022 due to his vaccination status.
“There were a lot of questions, a lot of attention for me given what happened 12 months ago and I could feel it. Even though I kind of wanted to isolate myself and get away from it, I just had to face the music,” Djokovic said of his triumph in Australia.
The “Joker” played in this match despite tearing an inch in one of his hamstring muscles. Many questioned his injury over the two weeks.
“I just had enough,” he said of it. I really don’t have the time, energy or will to face the judgment of others or prove anything to anyone.”
“I’ve already accepted that there will always be a group of people who aren’t going to like me, who aren’t going to like what I say, how I play tennis or anything in my life. There will always be judgment. I’m trying to get stronger from using it as fuel. Not to prove it to them, but to spark my own desire to get better and stronger.”
Djokovic will be in action at the tournament in Dubai this week and he is the favourite.
