Sam Breton cancels the rest of his tour for his first one-man show To the peak and the shovel for health reasons. The comedian announced this on his social networks on Wednesday evening.
In a touching release that we also saw on The Masked Singers, he explains that it was the accumulated fatigue that led him to this sudden cancellation:
“I was sincerely hoping that I would have the energy needed to cope with the symptoms and complete this self-imposed tour. But now I can't pretend anymore. Sometimes in life you have to know how to get away. With the motto in my throat, I suddenly have to end this tour and follow the recommendations of health experts.
Au pic pis à pelle was launched shortly before the pandemic. “I put absolutely everything into myself on this show,” the comedian writes. What pride to release it to the public in January 2020. The course of this project was quickly interrupted by the pandemic. Despite the cancellations, the postponements of the shows and the performances in front of a limited audience to respect health norms – and so on – I continued to believe in my show and hope to experience a “normal” tour.”
Sam Breton is overwhelmed by exhaustion and now wants to rest. “A few months of rest are necessary so that I can regain all my energy. If you feel any disappointment that I wasn't able to complete the last three months of my tour, know that [a] also a lot of pride. At the peak and at the scoop there are 556 displays of pure happiness that taught me a lot about myself.
