Christian Dubé was appointed Health Minister in the middle of the pandemic, two years after his return to the Salon Bleu, on Sunday evening The true naturedoesn't particularly like politics.
“I am not a politician. I went there with a mission. I like it… I like having the chance to achieve it, but I can't say I like politics and I tell myself it's a chance I can't escape,” he said .
“I feel this pressure,” particularly from the opposition, the health minister added.
Mr. Dubé also spoke about how, in his family cocoon, he experienced the pandemic and the health measures taken by his government.
“I became very isolated when it came to my feelings. And maybe wrongly, but I wanted to show it [à mon plus jeune] that I was strong in it because the last thing he needed to sense was that I also found it difficult,” he confessed, admitting that his party’s decisions had put pressure on his children to be flawless in the eyes of others .
As a trained accountant, Christian Dubé worked, among others, at Cascades, at the Caisse de dépôt etplacement du Québec (CDPQ) and at Domtar alongside Pierre Fitzgibbon, who over time became a close friend. While preparing dinner on Sunday evening, he also admitted that he entered politics on a whim, after a drunken discussion at the spa of this friend, who is notably Minister of Economy, Innovation and Energy.
True Nature is presented Sundays at 9 p.m. and can be seen on TVA+.
