After two seasons with the Montreal Canadiens, Anthony Richard signed a one-year contract with the Boston Bruins this summer.
However, the former member of the Nashville Predators failed to earn a spot with the big club, which was sold on Tuesday to the Providence Bruins, the Boston team’s school club in the American League. He had previously played three preseason games for the Bruins.

However, it doesn’t seem to have blown him away, on the contrary. He is excited as the new campaign approaches.
“You just have to get to know the guys in the locker room and the new system and also get to know your new city,” Richard said at a press conference on Thursday. It’s always exciting to come to a new city. I’m excited to be in Providence, I’ve heard nothing but good things about the city and the team.”
“I was lucky enough to have a lot of time on the ice last year at Laval, which helped me develop my game. I’m really excited about this year. We have a good team. I don’t think I’ve ever been better since I started my professional career,” he added.
Richard played 13 games in the National League (NHL) for the Habs last year, scoring three goals and two assists for five points. However, he experienced an offensive explosion with the Laval rocket. The 26-year-old forward has 67 points in 60 games during the 2022-23 season, surpassing his AHL career-high of 47 points in 73 games during the 2018-2019 season with the Milwaukee Admirals.
