“I gave humor” – Jean-Michel Anctil

Jean-Michel Anctil, who is increasingly appearing in dramatic series on the small screen, has no plans to return to stand-up anytime soon.

The Priscilla and Rake impersonator confided backstage at It Ends the Week Well’s Halloween special that he didn’t want to return to humor, at least not right now.

“I prefer what I do there on TV, acting. Maybe I could come back at some point to do a number at a gala, but no, I focused on the humor,” he said. He affirmed soulfully in the middle of a makeup session.

“I’m happy. I don’t regret anything. I had my “Grand Bien-Cuit” this summer, which will probably be presented after the holidays, where I was on stage again and I realized that I prefer it when others make me laugh,” he added.

The actor, who can be found in “À Coeur Battant” this season, is also preparing to film in another series, the name of which he preferred to keep quiet.

Without giving too much away, he admitted that he was hesitant to take on this new project and wondered if he was capable of playing such a role. “He is a character with great culture, who loves fashion and has a special sense of humor. He makes jokes, but he’s kind of the only one who finds them funny,” he described.

“It’s a big challenge. It’s not on the level of the characters, but on the level of the language. But I found that slowing down the flow adds another pretty interesting color to the character,” continued the host, who will dress up as a Mexican mariachi from Day of the Dead this Friday.

The costumes of this week’s guests, Rosalie Bonenfant, Normand D’Amour and Mathieu Dufour, may surprise or even scare some people.
