“I have to end up dead”: 19-year-old pleads for the death penalty after killing a good Samaritan while on PCP
A 19-year-old Texas man thrown in jail for shooting a good Samaritan was trying to prevent a robbery, they say he deserves the death penalty.
“What I did was wrong,” said Justin Jones. “I killed this man.” I think I should receive nothing less than the death penalty.
The Dallas-born Jones admitted to police that he killed Donald Morrow II, 36, in front of Sherlock’s Baker St. Pub and Grill on October 17, after committing a series of robberies while on the notorious PCP hallucinogen.

His alleged accomplice, 17-year-old Tierra Winters, admitted to driving the getaway car that night. Police arrested the two last week after receiving information about their whereabouts.
During an interview in prison with the station WFAA last Thursday, Jones said he took full responsibility for what happened.
“I’m here for a death sentence,” he said. “They know I did it. Everyone knows I did it. I did it.’
The fateful night began when Jones took several tablets of the widespread anti-anxiety drug Xanax. He followed this by smoking some marijuana, which he said turned out to have PCP
“It started and then I really don’t remember much,” Jones said. It was as if I was getting dark. It was as if I were asleep. I do it, but I don’t know what I’m doing.

He then came across his friend Zadarian Montgomery, who he said persuaded him to get involved in car theft in front of a Sunnyvale Street store. Jones aimed his gun at the victim, demanding the man’s money and wallet Dallas Morning Star reported.
The two then set off with Jones behind the wheel, police said.
Jones claims he died and does not remember what happened, but police say he then met with Winters and she drove him around Dallas, robbing several people along the way.
At the end of the robbery, authorities said Jones approached Morrow, Donnie Bullock and Bullock’s girlfriend shortly after 1 a.m. in the parking lot of the bar at Park Lane and North Central Expressway.
The man aimed his gun at Bullock and asked for his wallet. Morrow tried to intervene by hitting Jones, who then fatally shot him.
Eclipse: Jones says he remembers little of the events of October 17, Bud admits he deserves the death penalty for his crimes.
Jones said he did not remember anything about the incident, except that someone hit him and the sound of a shot.
“After the shot, it’s like I’m dreaming,” he said. I don’t even remember coming home.
When he awoke, he said Montgomery had told him the bullet was missing from the gun, and he knew then that he must have hurt someone, but he didn’t bother to check or surrender.
“I don’t even remember his face, what happened to him,” said Jones from prison. “I don’t even remember approaching him, brandishing a gun – all I remember is just a shot.”
“This man is dead for no maternal reason, for some nonsense I can’t even explain,” he said.
Donald Morrow’s mother, Margie Morrow, said she wanted to see her son’s killer executed.

“I believe there comes a time and place when what you do suffers the literal consequences,” she told Dallas Morning News.
In an interview with Fox4, Jones said he regretted his actions, but did not ask his victim’s family to accept his apology. Instead, the 19-year-old said all he could do now was pray.
“I have to end up dead,” he said. “I don’t even want to live anymore … I don’t want to be here.
“I feel like I took this man’s life and my life has to be [taken]… I’m not saying I’ll go back to my cell and hang myself. But I say that what I did was so fucked up that the judge should not have given me anything but the death penalty and done it quickly, “he said.
Jones is on bail of more than $ 1 million. Winters also remains behind bars on $ 1 million bail.
Jones categorically denied that the purpose of his tearful confessions was to make people feel sorry for him.
“Please don’t feel sorry for me. I don’t even want my family to feel sorry for me, “he said.
