Trey Filter heard someone shout “Get him!” A few seconds later, I saw a flash of white fly at full speed through a panicked crowd of supporters running for cover.

“It has to be him,” Mr. Filter said to himself, speaking to the New York Post a few hours after the shooting that left one man dead and 22 injured.

In a viral video, Mr. Filter can be seen jumping on the fleeing man and throwing him to the ground to stop him from running into the crowd of confused and frightened onlookers.

The suspected shooter was able to quickly escape, but was immediately attacked by a second Chiefs fan.

Mr. Filter then began punching the person in the ribs while his wife rushed to grab the fugitive's gun.

The father of two believes the weapon was an AK-47 assault rifle, but police would not confirm this.
