Sao Paulo

Musician Zé Neto, from the country duo with Cristiano, thought he would burn to death in the accident he suffered last week. “I said: 'My car is going to catch fire, I'm going to die in here,'” said the musician in an interview with Fantástico, which will be shown this Sunday evening.

Zé Neto broke three ribs in a car accident on Tuesday evening. He overturned his car while returning from his ranch in Fronteira, Minas Gerais.

Recalling that moment, he said, “Thank God, it was really just a scare.” “And life lessons. It is certainly another date to celebrate and another birth date that will be marked for the rest of your life.”

He was admitted to the intensive care unit at the Hospital de Base de São José do Rio Preto in inland São Paulo and was transferred to a hospital ward on Thursday after improving.

The accident occurred on the BR153, the socalled Transbrasiliana highway. According to the Federal Highway Police, two cars, a van and a truck, were involved in the accident.

“There is nothing left of the car. But I am shown here whole and unharmed on the Globo program.

Cristiano visited his friend in the hospital and said that Zé Neto was in great pain and fear, but had no serious injuries or internal bleeding.

According to police, Zé Neto's truck collided with a trailer, which crossed both lanes after the impact and blocked traffic. Then there was a rollover and a collision with other vehicles.
