For the occasion, Suzuki imitated Shohei Ohtani in his own way, that athlete who excelled on the mound and at bat. The former Seattle Mariners star pitched a 4-0 shutout, throwing 116 pitches and totaling nine strikeouts as a pitcher. In the batter’s box, he had two hits, including a double, in five appearances. Despite his career success, he ranked ninth in his team’s offensive role.
