If you go a month without a phone, you could make $10,000 – TVA Nouvelles

Would you be willing to give up your phone for a whole month? A yogurt company is offering to reward such a victim with a prize of $10,000 (approximately $13,400 Canadian).

Icelandic yogurt company Siggi's Dairy is offering to reward 10 lucky people as part of a major competition designed to encourage people to take part in a 30-day digital detox program.

This initiative is intended to be a digital counterpart to “Dry January,” but “instead of giving up alcohol for a month, we ask you to put down your smartphone,” the American company states on its website.

Siggi's Dairy wants to convince people of the benefits of living away from digitalization by proposing to start the year with a change to this lifestyle established in society.

“We believe in the power of a simpler life with fewer distractions,” the company says.

In addition to the cash prize of $10,000, the ten winners were able to score a lockable cell phone storage box, a flip phone, a one-month prepaid SIM card and a three-month supply of yogurt.

Unfortunately, the contest is only open to residents of the United States.
