Montreal Canadiens goaltender Samuel Montembeault has reportedly received a call from Hockey Canada to represent his country at the IIHF World Championship, traditionally held during the NHL playoffs.

At least that’s what journalist Steve Turcotte reports, adding that Montembeault should be the team’s best goalkeeper.
The Quebecer has been eye-opening in the NHL this year by stealing games for the Habs.

In difficult circumstances, the 6’3″ 214lb man has held a 16-18-3 record, 3.38 goals against average and 0.903 percent this season.
Montembeault was part of Canada’s selection at the 2016 World Junior Championships, but he was never sent to fight.
