At least that’s what journalist Steve Turcotte reports, adding that Montembeault should be the team’s best goalkeeper.

The Quebecer has been eye-opening in the NHL this year by stealing games for the Habs.

In difficult circumstances, the 6’3″ 214lb man has held a 16-18-3 record, 3.38 goals against average and 0.903 percent this season.

Montembeault was part of Canada’s selection at the 2016 World Junior Championships, but he was never sent to fight.
