Organs, spinal cord, hip bones, skulls: An American suspected of selling human remains through an illegal distribution network has been caught in the act by the FBI in his home decorated with his finds.
James William Nott, 39, was arrested last Tuesday at his home in Mount Washington, Kentucky, where Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents reportedly found around 40 skulls, including one adorned with a headscarf, during a search. reported Global News on Thursday.
Hip bones and other human remains are said to have been found in the apartment, which, according to the English-language media, allegedly came from an illegal resale ring that went beyond the United States, in which the accused is said to have participated.
According to the FBI, the 30s were involved in the buying and resale of human parts, believed to have had a contact at the Harvard Medical School morgue.
On social media, he is thought to have used the pseudonym William Burke, an Irish serial killer who dissected his victims, to offer his finds for sale, some of which are believed to date back to June 2023.
In June, the head of the medical school’s morgue, Cedric Lodge, along with his wife Denise Lodge and five other people, were handcuffed for buying and selling human remains, including heads, brains, skin and bones from donated cadavers. reported Sky News.
