You know it’s a sellers’ market when even a home seemingly haunted by a masked mass murderer could be bought at any moment.
In Carlinville, Illinois, Danielle Sullivan, 40, and her husband Owen, 53, have listed their four-bedroom, four-bathroom home for $169,000 – but photos appear to show a terrible houseguest.
While many of the images look perfectly normal and show the best features of the 2,750-square-foot home, a select few show a knife-wielding man dressed all in black with a Michael Myers face mask lurking in the background.
The clever listing has quickly gone viral, drawing attention on social media from accounts like Zillow Gone Wild – but Danielle promises that despite a cameo from one of Hollywood’s most famous serial killers, the house is actually a warm spot perfect for one family is.
“I will say that this house was full of love. There were no scary things. The house itself doesn’t come with a serial killer,” she told .

Danielle Sullivan, 40, and her husband Owen, 53, listed the property with the hilarious photos
Her Michael Myers is played by her 16-year-old son Cole, who wore the mask at his mother’s suggestion to scare his father, who worked in the basement
Danielle says that the house on E. Hoehn St. was the first house she and Owen shared as a married couple, and that’s where they raised their children.
A few years ago they moved into a house a few blocks away, appropriately located on Elm Street – and while Owen was recently putting that house up for sale, Danielle had an idea.
Turning to her 16-year-old son Cole, she said, “Why don’t you put on your Michael Myers suit and we go over there and scare Dad?”
When they got there, Owen was in the basement cleaning the floor when Cole was standing at the top of the stairs staring down.
“He looked up and there was Cole just standing there and being creepy,” she said.

“Anyone who knows me knows that this listing typifies my personality,” Danielle said

It was at that moment that Danielle, who is a professional photographer, realized that this could result in fun photos as they listed the house.
“I was just like, what the heck,” she said, adding, “Anyone who knows me knows that this listing typifies my personality.”
Cole was there, agreeing to stand in corners, behind a curtain and even on the toilet for spooky photos.

“The kitchen has French doors leading to the backyard, matching appliances, a large center island, a custom pantry around the fridge, and beautiful crown molding.
‘The dining room has French doors leading to a side terrace and the room opens onto the living room with original pocket doors between rooms.
The description of the listing is otherwise normal and not related to Halloween
“I’m known in our area as the Queen of Halloween,” Danielle said

‘The master bedroom has a large walk-in closet and a full bathroom with a jacuzzi tub/shower combination.’

Meanwhile, the Sullivans are currently celebrating all things Halloween at their Elm Street home, dressing up as a family for the holidays every October.
“I’m known in our area as the Queen of Halloween,” Danielle said.
Every year starting October 1st, she transforms her house into a monster with creepy fangs and eyes over the windows.
“I don’t just love Halloween, I live Halloween,” she said.

In addition to the monster decorations, the Sullivans also have animatronic characters like Beetlejuice on their lawn, and locals go out of their way to visit their house on Halloween — 550 trick-or-treats came in the last year alone.
They also host a special spooky night where instead of animatronic characters, there are real people in costumes outside and kids chasing around.
“It’s a whole production,” she said. “My monster house is pretty epic. I’m so proud of that.”
