A travel expert has revealed her simple trick to help airline passengers save time getting out of the airport.
Lindsey Mukaddam, 37, from Austin, Texas, is known for sharing her vacation adventures on social media, where she has over 125,000 followers, as well as on her blog.
Most recently, the content creator and professional solo traveler shared her top tip on how to get out of airports faster on TikTok.
Lindsey advised frequent fliers to go to the departures level for pickup – rather than the arrivals area.

She captioned the viral clip, which has been viewed over 1.1 million times: “After a 20+ hour day of travel I may look dirty but at least I won’t have to wait a moment longer to get home.”
“Here’s my airport secret,” she said at the start of the clip.
Lindsey then explained the trick that gets her to go to the departure area when the arrivals area is full, which helps her get out of the airport quicker and get home quicker.
She said, “Come to the departure level when the arrival level is completely full of cars, because then the person who is picking you up can come here without any problems. And they don’t have to wait in line.”
In an interview with Newsweek, the travel professional revealed how she found out about the trick.
“I learned about this hack because Austin Airport actually has signs during rush hour encouraging travelers to use both levels for pickup and drop-off.”
“Not everyone pays attention to this, but those who listen to this advice will have a shorter wait.”
Lindsey pointed out that this is not possible at all airports as some do not have separate sections.

She told the outlet: “Some days both levels are hit and unfortunately that trick doesn’t work.”
“And if there are any rules or laws at your airport that say not to use this hack, of course you are not allowed to break them.”
