Sanna Marin apologized Tuesday, August 23, for a photo that was deemed controversial.
The Finnish Prime Minister again in turmoil. Less than a week after the release of a video that sparked an avalanche of criticism showing her partying with her friends, Sanna Marin apologized for a controversial photo on Tuesday, August 23. The photo was taken in his apartment.
Broadcast by Finnish media, we see two women kissing, removing the top of their clothes to reveal their breasts and covering their chests with a “Finland” sign.
“This photo should not have been taken”
Sanna Marin confirmed that the photo was taken at her official residence in Kesaranta after attending a music festival that took place on July 8-10. “I think the photo is inappropriate, I apologize for that. This photo should not have been taken,” Sanna Marin told reporters in Helsinki.
The Prime Minister explained that “friends” were staying in her apartment at the time to “spend the evening” and “go to the sauna”.
The photo was first posted on a TikTok account by an influencer and former Miss Finland pageant contestant, who herself is in the photo. The snapshot is from a deleted video.
This photo is circulating primarily on the Twitter accounts of political opponents in Sanna Marin, fueling the controversy.
