Only ruins remain of a residential building in Cap-Rouge after a major fire on Friday evening. The fire broke out in the garage integrated into the building.
Some calls from residents and neighbors were received to 911 after 11 p.m. to report a major fire, the Quebec City Public Safety Department explained in a press release.
When the fire department arrived, part of the roof had collapsed and the flames had spread to the ground floor of the house. They called for reinforcements to secure the crime scene. Almost fifty firefighters intervened.

The flames were shooting out of the garage windows and reaching a height of more than one and a half meters when the fire brigade arrived.

At the rear of the building, a propane tank was threatened by flames.
The firemen [ont] The propane tank was continuously cooled to prevent an explosion, said Bill Noonan, public safety spokesman.
Firefighters also asked Hydro-Québec to provide load shedding in the area of the burning residence.
There were three people in the house when the fire broke out. They were able to free themselves without being injured or disturbed by the smoke.
