Seven people were killed in two shootings near San Francisco, California on Monday January 23. The victims are Chinese farm workers. “The suspect has been arrested. There is currently no longer any danger to the population,” he warned on twitter the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, which includes the town of Half Moon Bay, where the dramas took place.
An eighth victim is seriously injured, according to Sheriff Christina Corpus, who gave a press conference after the suspect’s arrest. Both shootings were committed by the same person, she said. He himself would be a farm laborer. The reasons for his actions are not known at this time.
The two tragedies happened a few kilometers apart on two farms. Five people were affected in the first and three in the second.

Suspect Chunli Zhao, arrested in front of live TV cameras, is 67 years old. The man was spotted in his vehicle in the parking lot at Half Moon Bay Police Station. A semi-automatic pistol was found in his car. He would live in this town.
Half Moon Bay, a small farming town on the edge of the Pacific Ocean, has a population of about 12,000. San Mateo County, to which it belongs, is known for the production of flowers and vegetables such as Brussels sprouts.

This new killing comes less than forty-eight hours after an Asian gunman killed 11 people also of Asian descent at a dance club near Los Angeles, not missing California Governor Gavin Newsom.

Joe Biden was also briefed, said further Twittered his spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre. The US President “has asked federal law enforcement agencies to provide any necessary assistance to local authorities,” she said.
