A video has shown the shocking moment a driver crashes his car into a toll booth before the car flies 50 feet in the air and slams onto the road on its roof.

The incident reportedly took place on November 24 at the Shihe toll booth of the Shenyang-Dalian expressway in central China.

CCTV footage shows the moment the driver races towards the concrete at the entrance to the toll plaza before slamming straight into it.

The impact is so great that the car is thrown a staggering 50 feet into the air before overturning and hitting the ground upside down.

Vehicle debris is thrown into the air while the guardrail remains intact.

Amazingly, the driver survived the accident and is said to be recovering in hospital, according to local media reports.

The case is currently under investigation.
