The Columbus Blue Jackets announced Monday that Quebec forwards Jordan Dumais and Mathieu Olivier would begin the 2023-2024 season on the injured list.

The right winger was selected by the Blue Jackets in the third round (96th overall) of the 2022 draft. Last year, he racked up an impressive 140 points in 64 games with the Mooseheads. The Montreal native scored 54 times and provided 86 assists.

For his part, Olivier will have to play his second season in Columbus this year. The person who stands out more with his fists than he collects points has one leg injured. He is likely to miss his team’s first duels of the season.

The 26-year-old right-hander has 114 games of experience on the Bettman circuit. He scored eight goals and 14 assists for 22 points and also received 169 penalty minutes.

Olivier was never drafted and began his professional career in the Nashville Predators organization. He also played 48 games with this team between 2019 and 2022.
