Havana, May 26th (RHC) Representatives of the Caribbean States arrived in Cuba this Thursday for the XXI. Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance of Peoples of Our America – Peoples’ Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP).

Ambassador of St Kitts and Nevis Lionel Sydney Osborne and Antigua and Barbuda Secretary of State Everly Paul Chet Greene will discuss joint development strategies with other dignitaries during the event.

Via Twitter, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez welcomed the arrival of the “brothers from Latin America and the Caribbean” on the island.

“We will exchange views on the regional situation and the potential of the alliance based on our capabilities and strengths,” added the head of Cuban diplomacy.

The ALBA-TCP summit takes place days before the IX. America Summit held in the United States, which does not provide for the participation of all the countries of the continent, which is why many nations have denounced its exclusive nature.

In fact, several members of the regional bloc expressed their opposition to the non-inclusion of sovereign states in this meeting, which they described as a setback in hemispheric relations. (Source: PL)
