About three kilometers to the east, at around 10:45 a.m., a second truck crashed into a sport utility vehicle, seriously injuring its five occupants.
And according to the Sûreté du Québec, there could be a connection between these two events, as the second heavyweight had to brake urgently but too late due to the traffic jam, resulting in a serious collision.
“Traffic slowed and the heavy vehicle would not have been able to brake,” SQ spokeswoman Camille Savoie told TVA Nouvelles.
