In the final stages of her cancer, she jumps out with a parachute

Mélanie Caron, a resident of Bas-Saint-Laurent who is currently battling her fourth cancer relapse, managed to skydive to make her dreams come true thanks to a crowdfunding campaign.

“Skydiving and Benji have always fascinated me, but especially skydiving. And besides, my partner said: ‘Why don’t you try Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge?’” says Mélanie Caron.

Because she was suffering from terminal lymphoma, she didn’t want to wait until it was too late to make her dream come true. That’s why a friend created a campaign on the GoFundMe page.

“They decided they wanted to make me pursue my dreams this summer because we didn’t know exactly how long or if the chemo would work,” Ms. Caron says.

And he will certainly remember the experience of this parachute jump.

“The adrenaline of jumping with the trainer who was also with us. He had several jumps under his belt and he knew his stuff, he was calming,” she says.

Her instructor Martin also asked her to come back in exactly one year and jump again.

“Everyone should do that, rush through life and follow their dreams because you never know when a traffic accident will happen. We know we have an expiration date, but… we all have a date,” says Mélanie Caron.
