In the first trailer, Renascer exchanges the devil and the pact in Jequitibá for forbidden passion TV

On Thursday evening (21) Globo showed the first trailer for the remake of Renascer, which premieres in January. The call focused on the forbidden love between José Inocêncio (Humberto Carrão/Marcos Palmeira) and Maria Santa (Duda Santos). The cramulhão that characterized the original version and entered the Brazilian imagination was again omitted.

The broadcaster had already published excerpts from the pact that José Inocêncio made on Wednesday (20) at the feet of a jequitibá rei. The scene with Leonardo Vieira went down in the history of Brazilian dramaturgy in 1993.

This time, at first glance, the tree seems to express José Inocêncio's passion for Maria Santa. The trailer has already made it clear that they will face several adversities, especially from their father the Jagunço Venâncio (Fábio Lago).

Juliana Paes was also highlighted as the prostitute Jacutinga, played by Fernanda Montenegro in the original version by Benedito Ruy Barbosa. The actress will undergo an aging process to appear in the second phase too.

One of the main villains of the plot, Colonel Belarmino (Antonio Calloni), was introduced to viewers. He wants to take over the land on which José Inocêncio runs a cocoa plantation which is considered one of the “treasures” of the agricultural industry in Bahia.

The character even published the catchphrase that José Wilker (19442014) spontaneously invented in 1993. “It’s fair, it’s very fair, it’s very fair,” he said.

The broadcaster has not yet shown the chaos that reigned in the original version of Renascer in detail. José Inocêncio would have become rich through a pact with the devil whose rumors led to an obsession with the humble Tião Galinha (Osmar Prado).

Irandhir Santos, who played José Leôncio in the first phase of the remake of Pantanal (2022), will be responsible for the character in 2024.
