In the streets of Panama, the Festival of Performing Arts ends

As its director, Roberto King, explained to Prensa Latina, the program with the family will be the farewell that will occupy spaces in the old part of the capital, including Santa Ana and San Felipe, as well as in the historic center.

A parade will go through the arteries until it reaches Plaza Catedral, where national artists such as Aries Academy, Magicians Monti and Austin, Artes Escénicas Colonenses, Libellula Hoops, Circo Arácnido, Plataforma de Danza Panamá and international artists Avenida Circo ( Argentina) and +O- Circus (Venezuela).

The event will be complemented by a craft fair and an offer of gastronomic products by well-known chefs from Sabores del Barrio, he said.

King pointed out that, as is tradition with every edition of the table, it will be a great opportunity especially for children and families who have not been able to attend the theater and dance performances held during the week the various stages, in addition to a contribution of the festival as a contribution to the democratization of art and culture.

FAE 2023 took place with the participation of performers from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Spain, Mexico and Panama as the host country.

From Colombia, the doors of the meeting were opened by the Petra Theater directed by Fabio Rubiano, this time with the play “I’m not crazy” starring Marcela Valencia, a powerful plea for women in the key of black comedy and parody.

Spain was represented by the Fernando Hurtado Company, a renowned dance company, who presented their latest choreography, Surely We Will Do the Wrong Thing, which explored the consequences of our personal choices on stage. The Brazilian dance company Atelie do Gesto was also a crowd puller with its choreography “O Crivo” (Spanish: “Cruce”), while Argentina was represented with the production “Una”.

For its part, Mexico returned with the group Lagartijas tiradas al Sol and presented the work Lázaro, which received wide public acceptance.

Outstanding in Panama were the piece Malditos by Mercedes Gintolli and in dance the choreographies La Silla by Sara Martín; Meraki, by Ana Maria Icaza; and Cartography of Oblivion, by Stephanie Lee.

This FAE 2023 showcased free social segments, such as the Neighborhood area, which saw children’s theater from state elementary schools in popular sectors for the first time.
