Independent Spirit Awards co-hosts Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally have joined numerous Hollywood celebrities in demonstrating their support for Ukraine amid Russia’s invasion of the country.
During Sunday’s awards ceremony, Mullally said: “I think we speak for everyone here when we say we hope for a quick and peaceful solution. In particular, back off and go home, Putin!”
“We hope that Putin will back off and go home, and to that end, let’s all salute Putin together at the Spirit Awards,” Offerman added, according to Variety.
According to the release, the married co-hosts then flipped the bird on camera.

“Great organizations raise money [for Ukraine]. Please give everything you can to the victims of this senseless act of aggression,” Offerman concluded.
Before the awards ceremony, it was revealed that Netflix had suspended operations in Russia following the country’s invasion of Ukraine.
“Given the circumstances on the ground, we have decided to suspend our service in Russia,” a Netflix spokesperson told Fox News Digital Sunday.

The move comes after a streaming service launched in the country in 2016 suspended all future projects and acquisitions from Russia. She also refused to air free propaganda channels required by Russian media law, Variety reported.
In addition to Netflix, major players in Hollywood have taken swift action to denounce President Vladimir Putin’s actions.from.
Last week, musicians, festival organizers and industry leaders announced their decisions to postpone events in Russia, drastically curbing entertainment offerings in the country.
