Washington, DC:
US President Joe Biden has suggested that one of the reasons for Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7 was the recent announcement of the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor, which integrates the entire region with a network of railways, roads and ports .
“I am convinced that one of the reasons why Hamas attacked at this time, and I have no proof of this, only my instinct tells me, is because we are making progress in Israel’s regional integration and regional integration as a whole have made. We can do that.” “Don’t leave this work behind,” Biden said.
The US President made this remark during a joint press conference with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Wednesday (US local time).
During the G20 Summit in New Delhi, India, the US, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, France, Germany, Italy and the European Union signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor .
According to sources, the corridor will promote and provide impetus to economic development through improved connectivity and economic integration between Asia, West Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
The India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor will consist of two separate corridors: the Eastern Corridor connecting India with West Asia/Middle East and the Northern Corridor connecting West Asia/Middle East with Europe.
It will include a railway line which, once completed, will provide a reliable and cost-effective cross-border ship-to-rail transit network, complementing existing multi-modal transport routes and improving the transshipment of goods and services between Southeast Asia and India to West Asia/Middle East Europe.
Biden recently praised the corridor and said the project would open up investment opportunities on two continents.
He said the rail port project is part of efforts to build a more sustainable, integrated Middle East.
The war between Israel and Hamas has now reached its 20th day.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his goal against Hamas’ war was to “save the nation” and vowed that a ground attack to destroy Hamas in Gaza would begin soon, The Times of Israel reported on Wednesday.
He said Israel was preparing for a ground operation but would not say when or how. He says he will not share the range of considerations involved.
“We are preparing for a ground attack. I won’t say exactly when, how and how many. Nor will I go into detail about the various considerations, most of which the public is unaware of. And that’s how it should be.” In this way we protect the lives of our soldiers.”
In an address to the nation, Prime Minister Netanyahu said: “Israel is in the midst of a battle for our existence. The war’s twin goals are “to eliminate Hamas by destroying its military and government capabilities and to do everything possible to get our hostages back.”
