The two-day event, themed “Celebrating the richness of fisheries and aquaculture,” brings together delegates from the missions of France, New Zealand, Norway, Australia, Russia, Spain, Zimbabwe, Angola, Brazil and Greece.
Also in front of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the Bay of Bengal Program (BoBP) and other institutions, the meeting aims to coordinate measures for the better Fisheries value chain management.
For the conference, the Indian Fisheries Ministry also gathered scientists, industry associations and other key stakeholders to exchange ideas and information on relevant technologies and market linkage opportunities.
More than five thousand industry insiders at all levels will share their insights in a series of ten sessions aimed at identifying focus areas, gaps, opportunities, solutions and partnerships that will contribute to the development of India’s seafood sector.
This exchange is also intended to promote a deeper understanding of current issues in the fisheries sector related to the challenges and opportunities in inland aquaculture, coastal aquaculture and mariculture, deep sea fisheries, sustainable aquaculture feeds, fish health management, innovations and best practices.
At the same time, open forums for bilateral cooperation between governments (G2G), governments between companies (G2B) and companies between companies (B2B) are taking place.
