Indian Foreign Minister in New York for UN General Assembly

Jaishankar will host a G4 (India, Brazil, Japan and Germany) ministerial meeting and participate in the L.69 Group’s high-level meeting on “strengthening multilateralism and achieving comprehensive reform of the United Nations Security Council,” the Foreign Ministry pointed out here .

Consisting of developing countries from Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, and small island developing States, the L.69 group focuses on UN Security Council reforms.

Also, on September 24, the head of Indian diplomacy will address a special event “India@75: Showcase India UN Partnership in Action,” which will highlight the Asian country’s development path and its contributions to South-South cooperation.

Likewise, it will attend meetings of the Brics Group (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa), the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States and the Caribbean Community, among others.

Jaishankar will also have bilateral meetings with foreign ministers of the G20 and United Nations Security Council member states, among others.

The foreign minister’s speech at the high-level session of the 77th UN General Assembly is scheduled for the morning of September 24.

During his stay in the United States, Jaishankar will meet UN Secretary-General António Guterres and UN General Assembly President Hungarian Csaba Korosi.

Following these commitments, Jaishankar will be in Washington DC September 25-28 to discuss with Secretary of State Antony Blinken, senior US government officials and business leaders, as well as participate in a roundtable focused on science and technology and with the Indians to interact diaspora.
