Indigo data leak: employees potentially compromised

A ransomware attack has compromised the data of many current and former employees of Indigo Books & Music, the Canadian books giant has admitted.

In a statement, Indigo said the breach, which is dated February 8, left no indication that customer personal information could have somehow fallen into the wrong hands and that only employees were involved.

At the time of writing this article, the site was not yet accessible for online purchases, with the exception of a few books.

Global News also reported that the company had called in independent experts to try and investigate the incident. Affected employees were notified earlier this week.
