Influencer Mia Plecic was sharply criticized for defending her fiancé, who was walking his dog by the ear

An Australian influencer has been convicted for defending her fiancé after he pulled her dog’s ear.

Mia Plecic, founder of beauty product Slick Hair Co, and her fiancé Justin Borg were called out Monday after she posted a video of him pulling her dog Maple’s ear after visiting a local park.

Following backlash over the post, Mia, 31, defended Justin while bragging about how those who dragged her down “helped their business grow”.

In her lengthy Instagram post, Mia began, “I find it utterly preposterous that I have once again become the target of ‘abandon culture’ for the most absurd of reasons.”

“Ironically, futile attempts to tarnish my reputation inadvertently contribute to my positive track record… It’s really ridiculous that they would target their attacks on individuals who outperform them.”

“Your mission to destroy both me and my business unintentionally plays into my hands.” As evidenced by our record sales yesterday, your actions served as a catalyst for gaining new followers and customers.”

She also insisted Justin hadn’t “harmed” her dog, Maple, and that he walked her to the car because she was eating food off the floor.

“Maple, my beloved Groodle with an appetite for junk, devours anything that gets in her way.” Noticing that she appeared to be eating rice and meat in the park garden, my partner Justin acted quickly and led her to the car while he holding her floppy ear as she was temporarily off the collar,” Mia said.

“Did it hurt her? Absolutely not. To suggest that she is an abused dog couldn’t be further from the truth. “In a hypothetical dangerous situation, I would undoubtedly repeat the same course of action.”

“Finally she wagged her tail and she was fine. Yet the relentless pursuers of a false narrative will seize every opportunity to sully my name. However, their efforts are in vain and will not prevail. Period.’

Following backlash over the post, Mia, 31, defended Justin while bragging about how those who pulled her down “have helped her business grow”.

She continued, “My dogs are so loved and well taken care of.” But really, this has nothing to do with my beloved dog, it’s about taking every opportunity to attack me personally. “An ordinary person who works insanely hard and has literally tiny followers, mind you.”

Many of Mia’s followers criticized her statement, insisting she should be kept on a leash when her dog is difficult to control.

“I’ve never seen a dog being led by the ears, aggressive or not, that’s a bit strange,” one person wrote.

“If your dog won’t listen to commands in public, it’s a good idea to have him on a leash or at least with a collar so you don’t get falsely called and abused as an animal abuser.”

Another agreed, adding: “Wait a minute, don’t be upset because people are shaming your partner for grabbing your dog’s ear.” People are concerned, dog ears are extremely sensitive. Can’t you imagine having someone grab your ears?

In the now-deleted video, reposted by Instagram detective account Dutch Minty, Mia can be heard laughing as Justin drags Maple to the car.

“@miaplecic laughs as her fiancé @justinborg pulls her dog’s ears. And yet your company @slickhairco is ‘cruelty free’?’ The video was subtitled.

“I wonder if she would laugh if she was looped around her ear…that’s cruelty,” one person commented.

‘That is not OK! “I hope the right people see this,” said another. ‘That’s disgusting. “This needs to be reported,” agreed a third.

“Treated better than any other dog? “My dog, who has never been walked by the ears, doesn’t approve at all,” commented another.
